post cover
"Just because something comes easily to you, does not mean it has no value. You find it effortless because you love it, and that is why it is your gift."

The Tea Dragon Festival is the second graphic novel in the Tea Dragon series by Katie O'Neil. It is a cute middle grade graphic novel that has been capturing the hearts of many readers like -- so I decided to see why everyone was raving about this and read it..

MY REVIEW:
may contain spoilers

I received an ARC of The Tea Dragon Society from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you very much, as well as to the author, Katie O'Neil, and Oni Press for allowing me to read and review this.

Now before I start, I just want to say that I was getting constant kawaii pokemon vibes, and honestly, I was fangirling from a cuteness overload!

The art is really well done!

The characters are adorable!

And I want my own tea dragon!

This was a lovely quick read that is very easygoing and relaxing. Because of this, I think the story beats are less noticeable, which can be a good thing - depending on which way you look at it. It can make the read float seamlessly, far from a tedious experience; or it can make a story boring. It did the first.

It was so close to getting 5 stars, too! But it just didn't quite get there, only slightly missing the mark.

Would / Will I read the prequel to The Tea Dragon Festival, 'The Tea Dragon Society'?
YES! If it is anything like this book, I definitely will be.
